Mortal Kombat Rebirth?

Apparently a new Mortal Kombat movie is in the works. Below is a pretty sweet viral trailer that just hit the interwebz today. Michael Jai White (Spawn, The Dark Knight) plays Jax. Reptile, Baraka, Johnny Cage, Sub Zero, Scorpion and Sonya Blade all make appearances here as well.

Whether it's now or when you were a kid, everyone has a video game they geek out over. Mine just happened to be Mortal Kombat II, so this news pleases me considering the other movies sucked.

Skullphone has an art exhibit taking place right now through July 2nd at Subliminal Projects. Even though the opening reception already took place, you should still go. The last 3 weeks have been pretty solid for trailers. You've probably already seen the Avatar trailer. Way too much hype for my liking, but who am I kidding, I will see it when it comes out in December. Still waiting for Trailer Addict to upload a trailer for Paranormal Activity. Other than that, check out the rest of the trailers below.

Up in the Air (Teaser Trailer). (Will probably see it. Like the director and Clooney ain't so bad.)

The Wolfman. (Worried about the director switch, but solid cast and I love the classic story.)

Inception (Teaser Trailer). (The truest form of a teaser trailer. So far, so good.)

Black Dynamite. (Looks badass, will definitely see this.)

Art & Copy (Trailer B). (Looks interesting, worth checking out.)

Youth in Revolt. (Looks funny. Never read the book, might need too.)

The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day (Red Band Trailer). (Looks completely absurd, but Clifton Collins, Jr. is tight.)

The House of the Devil Trailer & Poster.

Here's another horror movie that's getting good reviews that I really want to see. A definite homage to the 80's classics. I am digging everything about this. The artwork for the poster is a breath of fresh air and the trailer looks all sorts of awesome. You really can't go wrong with scary occult movies during Halloween.

According to IMDB, it's hitting On Demand in September and the DVD comes out in October. However on Trailer Addict, it says it's coming out October 30th. Weird.

UPDATE: (8/19/09) Forgot to add the Bronson trailer, so check it out below.

Bronson. (This looks awesome. Reminds me of Chopper a little bit. It already came out in the UK back in March, but doesn't hit limited theaters in the US till October. I will definitely be seeing this when that time comes.)



Gentlemen Broncos. (I laughed and would probably see this. Plus, it looks funnier than Napoleon Dynamite, which isn't saying much.)

 

Legion (Red Band). (This trailer is beyond ridiculous. The elderly demon woman who crawls on the ceiling is worth the 5 minutes alone. Baby Boy's in it, the dude from the tv show Rock, Dennis Quaid, and some others. Don't give these people your money.)



Taking Woodstock. (Looks pretty good. I wouldn't mind seeing this and I normally don't like hippies.)

Inglourious Plummers Trailer.

I laughed at certain parts. A well executed viral video.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. (The Joker's last movie. Hallucinogens anyone? Still looks pretty cool, will probably check it out.)

The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard (Red Band). (Could be funny, could suck. I am on the fence.)



Halloween II. (Never saw the first Halloween by Rob Zombie, but this one looks better than that in my opinion.)
