Apparently the steroids Bonds used are now being said to be legal? I am not a scientist by any means, but that just seems absurd. Yeah, I know Giants fans, practically all of baseball was on steroids at the time, BUT not everyone in the league was breaking a Home Run record that was 33 years old. Regardless of what you think about the issue, the video is funny.

Now that these drugs are being deemed legal, you think you might be able to leave Barry alone? How come you never talk shit about Eric Gagne and his save streaks? Or how about Dave Justice? Or McGuire or Sosa who also both have homerun records…with no * next to them?

You see the irony in your accusations? Everyone was on the same drugs Barry was on…yet nobody else broke that record. Even with everyone else on drugs—nobody was AS GOOD AS BARRY WAS!
Like I told Haggard:
it’s like everyone on the freeway’s doing 100mph, and Barry gets arrested for going 85…but nobody else even gets a speeding ticket. I may come off as a bias Giants’ fan, but at least I’m not singling out 1 player in a league where drug use was widespread and CONDONED by every aspect of the sport (owners, coaches, media, FANS).
So go ahead and continue to single out the best baseball player of our generation…
who did the same drugs as all the other (successful and unsuccessful) players of our generation.

A) Leave Barry alone? Seriously?... Are you being serious?... You make it sound like I am the only one picking on him at recess. Bonds knew exactly what he was doing was wrong, but since "everyone" else was doing it, it totally makes it OK? The logic behind that is downright retarded.
B) I don't talk shit about Eric Gagne cause I could careless about Eric Gagne. His last name is Gagne for fuck's sake. Yes, he too did steroids. Happy? However, Save streaks aren't as glamorous or as popular as Home Runs in baseball. You should know this.
C) David Justice was once married to Halle Berry and doesn't hold any HR titles. Case closed.
D) Mark McGuire is now feeling the repercussions of his steroid use and isn't being elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame. I doubt he really cares about that single season HR record he held for 3 years now, does he?
E) Sammy Sosa isn't the record holder for All-Time HR's or Single Season HR's, so why do you care if he has an * next to his name? He's more infamous for using a corked bat than injecting testosterone in his ass.
F) Hypothetically, if McGuire or Sosa were the All-Time HR record holder, I think they would have an asterisk next to their name too, but it wouldn't be as big a deal as Bonds' cause people (other than Giants fans) actually liked them. Charisma goes a long way in life. (case in point. Politics).
G) If you weren't a Giants fan, you wouldn't have wasted your glorious Monday afternoon writing this. You, like every other person who watched the video, would have laughed then pretty much thought nothing of it after that.
H) Yes, I know Barry Bonds was good at hitting Home Runs.
I) Only Bonds gets a speeding ticket cause he's probably a dick to the police officer.
J) Yes, you are a bias Giants fan and wouldn't give two shits about him if he were on a different team. Especially the Dodgers or Angels.
K) He's being singled out by everyone cause he broke the HR records. Hello, if anyone else did it, they would be in same boat as him as long as they were accused of using steroids. It doesn't help his case that he is a giant cocksucker either (No pun intended???)
L) I find it very funny that you get so hot and bothered that I don't like Barry Bonds. That and a hilarious video about said man, made you write paragraphs trying to convince me otherwise. Just letting you know, it's not gonna happen. Bonds could save a burning hospital full of sick puppies tomorrow and I still wouldn't like him.
M) The best player of OUR generation? In my opinion? No. In the eyes of bias Giants fans? Sure, why not. One of the best? Of course. Dude had skills on the field. I feel the best player of OUR generation is probably still playing. We won't know until we are old and records are broken.
N) You forgot to mention how many World Series rings Bonds has.
O) Alex Rodriguez will eventually break Bond's All-Time HR record. That's if he is able to play 22 seasons in the big leagues like Barry. He already has 15 under his belt. His first two consisted of only 65 games, so he's got around 8-10 more good years in him for sure. After doing the basic math, A-Rod only needs 7 years of averaging 29 HR's to break said record. Oh yeah, he averages 36 HR's a year (even with those first 2 years of not playing), so it will happen as long as he stays healthy. Just so you know I don't like A-Rod either. Feel better now?
Anyways, my main point being is, BONDS IS A DICK. PEOPLE DON'T LIKE DICKS. If Bonds wasn't such an asshole all the time, would people care as much about his "alleged" steroid use or HR records? We will never really know, but I do feel people would forgive him easier if he weren't such a prick.
I brought this up earlier (see Point J), and I am going to end on it. If Barry Bonds were a Dodger, you would hate him more than I do TENFOLD, so ponder that while you write your novel long response for me to reply too.

i get that "barry deserves it" because he's an asshole who holds an "all time" record. what i don't get is no one else in baseball history gets ANY shit talked about them. like it's not a crime as long as the drugs didn't make you "the best of all time". if you get caught corking your bat WHILE ON THE JUICE--it's ok as long as you're only 5 or 6th on the all time home run list (see:Sosa). it's ok if you flat out lie on public TV about using roids as long as you're only 10th on the all time list.
maybe if you talked shit about clemens or schilling or palmeiro or sosa once in a while, i wouldn't get worked up about you blaming all that's wrong with baseball on one guy. that's like blaming coke in the 70's on rick james.

I like that you get it about Bonds getting hated on cause he's a dick, but I don't think you really "get it" because you would understand from my previous post that people don't give a shit about who's in 10th place or 6th or even 2nd in this country. They only care about #1. How do you not understand this? No one gives a shit who is 27th on the all time jack off list regardless of their steroid use. If you re-read my previous post you would know that if McGuire or Sosa were in Bond's position, I would be talking shit on them and questioning the legitimacy of their records just like Bonds. It's just that since Barry is the All-Time leader he will be scrutinized more and be under the media microscope more so than the others.
Regarding Clemens and Schilling, I have talked shit about them. I guess if you weren't so busy at work and would sign on AIM once in awhile, you would have heard me rant about them. Ask Haggard, I have discussed my distaste for The Rocket and Curt numerous times when they were in the news. If it's not on my blog it doesn't mean I haven't done it. I don't recall I've ever mentioned or said Barry Bonds is what's wrong with America's Pastime. Please let me know when I said such things. Just because I openly express my animosity towards Bonds, doesn't mean I think he ruined baseball, so don't assume that.
Also, why didn't you comment on when I said if Bonds were a Dodger you would hate him more than me and would probably talk just as much if not more shit on him than me? Is it because I am right and it's true? :)

P.P.S. Speaking on different Barry's, I can joke about raping Barry cause he knows I don't actually mean it. I don't feel Barry is a nerd just because he was a Classics major or likes to read.
